Pick a number 1 or 2 wheel
The wheel opens with exactly two slices, 1 and 2, each covering half the circle. Press Spin the wheel or tap the circle; after about four seconds the pointer at twelve o’clock settles on one of them. The number appears in large type below the wheel and joins the Results list, so nobody has to squint at a slice.
Most people asking for a 1 or 2 are really choosing between two things, with the digits as stand-ins. Say which option is 1 and which is 2 before anyone spins; a number matched to an option after the result is not a random pick. Or write the options onto the lines: “1 – tacos” and “2 – burgers” both fit on their slices, and the result reads as the decision.
Pick a number between 1 and 2
Taken literally, a number between 1 and 2 could be 1.5 or 1.25, and occasionally that is the intent. Here the phrase means the two whole numbers, the usual reading. If halves belong in the game, type 1, 1.5 and 2 on separate lines for a three-way pick, and add 1.25 and 1.75 for quarters.
Clear empties the list, and the 1 or 2 quick range puts both numbers back in one tap after any experiment with decimals.
Pick a number 1-2 for turns, teams and tiebreaks
The classic uses are small and immediate: who goes first in a board game, which of two kids rides up front, which team kicks off, which of two tied finalists takes the prize. Each needs the losing side to accept the outcome, and a spin they watched is far easier to accept than a digit somebody else had in mind.
For turn order, check “Remove the winner after each spin” first. With two numbers on the wheel, one spin then settles the whole order: the result line reads something like “2, then 1”, both numbers enter the Results list in that sequence, and a single slice is left. Tap the 1 or 2 quick range to restore the second slice for the next game.
For a tiebreak, fix the format before anyone sees a result: one spin, or first to two. Switching formats once a player has fallen behind is the one way to make an even spinner uneven.
Is a pick between one and two really 50/50?
With the default list, yes: two lines make two equal slices, and over many spins each number wins half the time. Each result comes from the browser’s own cryptographic generator and is chosen before the wheel starts turning, so the animation only reveals it.
Half the time does not mean taking turns. The chance that four spins in a row all land on the same number is one in eight, so a run of three 2s during an evening of turn-taking is normal, not a sign the wheel favors a side. It keeps no memory between spins, and after three 2s the fourth is still a coin flip.
To give one side better odds on purpose, give it more lines. The list 1, 1, 2 draws three equal slices, two labeled 1, so 1 wins two times in three and everyone can see why.
Hey Google, pick a number 1 or 2: why a wheel you can see is better
Say “Hey Google, pick a number between 1 and 2,” or put the same request to Siri, and the assistant replies with one number. Searching pick a number 1 or 2 on Google brings up its own number widget, already set to a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 2.
The catch is everything around it. Only the person holding the phone hears or sees the reply, nothing proves that 1 and 2 were the only possibilities, and no one else can tell whether this was the first request or the third. Between two people, that doubt is the whole problem.
A wheel puts the range, the spin and the result in front of everyone. Turn a laptop around or prop a phone on the table, and both people watch the same pointer stop on the same slice.
Pick a number 1, 2 or 3
Three siblings and one window seat, three chores and one volunteer, three movies and one evening: the 1, 2 or 3 quick range loads a three-slice wheel in one tap, with a third of the circle per number. It answers pick a number between 1 and 3 with the same single spin.
Three slices is where “Remove the winner after each spin” earns its place. Spin for the first pick and again for the second, and the last number is filled in for you, so two spins put three players in order.
A third slice can also be an escape hatch: rename 3 to “Spin again” or “Both” when a strict 1 or 2 feels too narrow.
Other ranges: 1-3, 1-4, 1-6 and 1-10
The quick ranges above the list cover what people ask for after 1 or 2. 1–4 suits a four-player game. 1–6 stands in for a die when the one from the board game box has gone missing, so a pick from 1 to 6 is a single tap. 1–10 fits a quick rating or ten numbered options.
Ranges without a button, such as 1 to 5, 1 to 7 or 1 to 8, take seconds to type, one number per line. The Random Number Wheel, listed under More ready-made wheels at the end of this page, carries quick ranges up to 1–100. Past roughly 40 numbers the slices lose their labels, but the pick is unaffected and the result line still prints the winner in full.
The pick a number 1 or 2 game
One party version: the host writes a prize under 1 and a forfeit under 2 on a folded note nobody else sees, and the player’s number decides which they get. Spinning instead of choosing takes the player’s hunches about the host out of it, and plain digits on the wheel keep the note secret until the pointer stops.
For a guessing game, one person calls 1 or 2 out loud and the other spins. A correct call scores a point, first to five wins, and the Results list keeps the running sequence, so nobody argues about the score.
Frequently asked questions
Can you pick a number 1 or 2 for me?
Yes. Spin the wheel at the top of this page and it lands on 1 or 2, each holding half the circle. The answer is printed beneath the wheel and logged in Results, and another spin gives a fresh pick.
How do I pick a number between 1 and 2?
This page starts with exactly those two numbers, so press Spin the wheel or tap the wheel and read the result. If you have changed the list, the 1 or 2 quick range restores it in one tap.
Does “pick a number between one and two” include 1.5?
Not unless you add it. The default wheel holds only the whole numbers 1 and 2. Type 1.5 on its own line and it becomes a third, equal slice; every line is treated as text, so 1.25 or 1.75 work too.
Can Hey Google or Siri pick a number 1 or 2?
Both assistants will reply with a number when asked. Neither shows the range or the moment of the pick to anyone but the person holding the phone. When the number settles something between two people, the wheel lets both watch the same spin.
How do I pick a number 1, 2 or 3?
Tap the 1, 2 or 3 quick range above the list, then spin; each number holds a third of the circle. With “Remove the winner after each spin” checked, two spins produce a full first, second and third order.
Can this wheel pick a number 1-4, 1-6 or 1-10?
Yes, all three are quick range buttons above the list. For a range without a button, type the numbers one per line, or open the Random Number Wheel for presets up to 1–100.
Is a 1 or 2 spin really 50/50?
With one line for each number, yes. Every spin is drawn fresh, so a streak of 2s says nothing about what comes next. The odds only move when you repeat a line, and any extra slice is on the wheel for everyone to count.
Does it cost anything, and is my list sent anywhere?
It is free and needs no account. The numbers and labels you enter stay in your browser. The site loads Google Analytics to count visits and how pages are used, under a pseudonymous cookie ID, and Google AdSense to show ads, and neither is given what you enter.
